Saxophonist Ron Jones’ live performances cover many eras of exciting jazz, swing, blues and popular music. Ron has performed at Las Vegas Bellagio, New York Birdland and Waldorf Astoria, Chicago Buddy Guys’ Legends, and across North America. He’s recorded two original jazz CDs, written music for CNN, recorded with Al Green and Teo Macero, jammed onstage with Smokey Robinson, Mick Fleetwood, George Thorogood and Kirk Whalum, and opened for Crosby Stills & Nash. He has also recently been featured in articles in Intl Musician and Buddy Magazines. Ron performs at: Dallas Museum of Art, Sammons Center, Gaylord and other area hotels, restaurants including Sneaky Pete’s, Brooklyn, Terilli’s, Sambuca, and Avanti. Ron teaches at Richland College and holds music degrees from North Texas and NYU. Ron's group is available as: Quartet – sax, piano, bass and drums. (Original jazz, and lively cocktail and dancing music.) Trio – three of above instruments (more mellow.) Duo – sax with piano or guitar (quiet tunes from jazz to rock.) Solo – Ron performs solo saxophone (street-musician style) or one-man band with backup tracks (sax and flute, popular tunes for small parties, dinner music.) |
