PM Jazz is the perfect customizable jazz group.  PM Jazz can be sized as a duo all the way up to a quintet.  You can pick and choose the instrumentation and size of the group based on your needs for your event.  For example, you could go with just bass and saxophone or add piano and a vocalist.  PM Jazz is perfect for wedding reception cocktail hours, rehearsal dinners, corporate dinners, birthday parties, anniversaries parties and any other event where an air of class and sophistication is needed. 

PM Jazz is led by Lou Harlas, nationally recognized electric and acoustic bassist. For more than three decades, Lou has performed a versatile repertoire of jazz, rock, rhythm and blues, and classical music throughout the United States. Through his musical depth and expertise, Lou brings together the ideal combination of musicians and instruments to create the perfect mood for any event.

In New York, Lou has toured with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, featuring Ella Fitzgerald, and performed live with Dave Liebman and Junior Cook. His New York recording work includes Manhattan Projections with Branford Marsalis.  In Nashville, Lou performed with David Ball and Johnny Lee, among many other artists. Lou also played in studio sessions with Mark O'Connor, Marty Stuart, Vassar Clements, and John and Jamie Hartford.

A native of Houston, Lou holds a master's degree in jazz performance from the University of Miami. As a student, Lou received the Outstanding Musicianship Award from the National Association of Jazz Educators.
